“Foreigners living among you will be like your own people. Love them as you love yourself…”
– Leviticus 19:34 (GNT)
Refugees are individuals who are forced to flee their country because of persecution, war or violence. A majority of them come from Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, and Iraq — where their lives were endangered, their freedoms jeopardised and their human rights violated.
There are over 13,653 refugees – commonly referred to as “Pengungsi” or “Pencari Suaka” – living in Indonesia. Without any permit to work, or conduct any income generating activities, they are unable to access public services, housing, education and healthcare; and are solely relying on donations to survive.
They are in desperate need of our help – and we have the power to make a change! In collaboration with CC Helping Hands and our partner New Hope Refugees Ministry (NHRM), we are introducing the Refugee Sponsorship Program.
The Refugee Sponsorship Program aims to provide a sustainable way of supporting refugees that are not yet funded by international organisations. Sponsors will have the opportunity to support a refugee family or individual to meet their basic needs.
Sponsors may choose to sponsor them for a committed period of time or as a one-off donation. All funds will be managed by Atmosphere Impact and distributed to refugees by New Hope Refugees Ministry (NHRM). Monthly reports will be provided to sponsors with a chance of exchanging letters, photos, and prayers with their sponsored refugee(s) too.
Join us in making a change!
